RADNOR, Pa. - Junior softball student-athlete Kaitlyn Cooper has been named the CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the week, for the week ending Sunday, March 29.

Last week, Cooper led the Blue and White to 6-5 and 8-4 wins over Eastern. Cabrini trailed 5-0 in the first game but the junior answered with two three run home runs, including a walk-off slam in the seventh. Cooper finished 2-4 at the plate and scored twice in the win.Â

In the nightcap, the junior reached base twice, scored a run and stole a base in the win. With two outs in the bottom of the third inning, Cooper reached base on an error by the shortstop and quickly stole second base. Senior Steph Diegel stepped up to the plate and launched a three run home run to extend the Cavalier lead to 4-0.Â

On the year, Cooper holds a .316 batting average and is tied with Diegel for the team lead with two home runs. The junior also leads the team with 18 RBI and is tied for second with freshman Christine Ferraro with 12 hits. Cooper’s 12 runs are also good for second on the team.Â

Cooper leads the CSAC in RBI, ranks second in home runs, sixth in runs scored and 12th in hits.Â

Cooper and the Blue and White will travel to Immaculata, Pa. to face Immaculata (2-8, 2-0 CSAC) in a CSAC doubleheader tomorrow at 3 p.m.
