RADNOR, Pa. - Senior women’s basketball student-athlete Amber Keys has been named the CabriniAthletics.com Student Athlete of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, December 21.
Last week, Keys averaged 18 points, 13 rebounds and 3.5 blocked shots to lead the Cavaliers to a pair of victories at the University of Scranton Poinsettia Classic. The senior was also named MVP of the two day Classic.
On Wednesday, Keys led the Blue and White to a 62-61 overtime win over Richard Stockton College with 23 points,15 rebounds and five blocked shots.
One day later, Keys added 13 points and 11 rebounds to collect her sixth double double of the year, as the Cavaliers toped No. 6 University of Scranton 37-35.
Keys currently sits third in the CSAC in scoring with 16.5 points per game. The senior ranks second in the conference with 2.5 blocked shots and 12.6 rebounds per game.
Keys also ranks among the conference leaders in field goal percentage (6th - .440), free throw percentage (10th - .588) and minutes played (15th – 31.6).
Nationally, Keys ranks 18th in rebounding and 32nd in blocked shots.
Keys and the Cavaliers (6-2, 2-0 CSAC) will put their six game win streak on the line as they travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico for the Puerto Rico Shootout. The Cavaliers will face No. 2 Thomas More College (7-0) on Sunday before meeting Ithaca College (6-1) on Monday.
