Sophomore field hockey student-athlete Karlie Gruccio has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 7.

Gruccio netted a pair of goals Cabrini’s 5-1 win over Neumann University last week on her only two shots of the week.   The sophomore evened the score at 1-1 with a goal in the 27th minute.  Six minutes later, Gruccio’s second tally gave Cabrini a lead it wouldn’t relinquish.

The Elementary Education major has scores 10 career goals and recorded five assists in her 29 games, including three goals this season.  

Gruccio and the Cavaliers will face Cedar Crest College today at4:00 p.m. before returning to Edith Robb Dixon Field to host Gwynedd-Mercy College on Saturday.   The rematch of the 2011 CSAC Championship is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.
