Freshman women’s swimming student-athlete Alexis Drew has been selected as this week’s CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 3. Drew was instrumental in helping the Cavaliers women’s swim team notch a victory over Ocean County College.
Drew posted a pair of victories, recording personal best times in both events. The rookie captured the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:17.23, besting the second place finisher by over 18 seconds. Later in the meet, Drew added a victory in the 100-yard butterfly, capturing the win with a time of 1:09.56.
The Cavaliers’ 99-71 victory was the first in a dual meet since a season-opening 56-37 win over FDU-The College at Florham.
Drew and the Blue and White swim teams will return to the pool next weekend as they participate in the 2013 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships. The three day event opens Thursday, February 14 at Grove City College and runs through Saturday, February 16.
