Senior volleyball student-athlete Danielle Carrozza has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 27. The senior recorded her 1,000th career kill as the Blue and White went 4-0 last week. Â
Carrozza totaled 52 kills and 36 digs, while hitting 0.450 for the week. In a 3-0 win at Cedar Crest, Carrozza tallied seven kills and six digs in just two sets. The senior paired 14 kills and 14 digs in Cabrini's 3-1 win over Moravian College on Thursday.
The senior reached the 1,000 career kill plateau on Saturday with the final of her 16 kills, against no errors, in a 3-0 home win over Rutgers-Camden. Carrozza followed that with a 15 kill, eight dig outing in the Blue and White's 3-0 victory over the University of Scranton.
With four matches left in the regular season, Carrozza leads the CSAC with a 0.381 hitting percentage and 4.11 kills per set. The senior also ranks second on the team with 246 digs.
Carrozza and the Cavaliers (23-4, 9-0 CSAC) will close the regular season with four matches this week. The team will visit both Keystone and Baptist Bible College on Wednesday before facing Shenandoah University and Elizabethtown College on Saturday.
