Softball student-athlete Lea Enoch has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the week for the week ending Sunday, March 23, 2014. The sophomore broke out of a season-opening slum, going 4-11 last week, with five RBI and three runs scored.
In Friday’s 9-0 win at Centenary, Enoch’s single to center field in the third inning scored junior Steph Diegel. Later in the frame, Enoch crossed the plate on freshman Lindsay Savar’s single.
Enoch also added an RBI in Saturday’s loss to Immaculata. The sophomore’s ground out plated Diegel.
In Saturday’s night cap, Enoch was a key in Cabrini’s rally from a 7-0 deficit to top the Mighty Macs 12-11 in eight innings, going 3-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Â
Enoch knocked in Cabrini’s first run in the third inning, when her double up the middle scored freshmen Brianna Milillo and Natalie Giannascoli. One inning late, the sophomore’s infield single scored Savar. Enoch’s first home run of the season came in the sixth inning, a two run shot that cut the deficit to 7-6.
Enoch and the Cavaliers (2-7, 2-2 CSAC) return to action on Friday, when they welcome Cairn University (6-2, 2-0 CSAC) to Cabrini Field for a CSAC doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
