Junior goaltender Maddy Edwards has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week  for the week of September 5 through September 11, 2011.  Edwards led the Cavaliers to a 2-0 win at DeSales University on Saturday.

The Elementary Education major recorded six saves in Saturday’s victory, the first this season for Cabrini.

On the season, Edwards has recorded 18 saves and has not allowed a goal in the first 200 minutes of the Cavaliers season, including a double-overtime 0-0 tie at Stevenson University on September 1.

The two-time CSAC All-Academic Team honoree has posted a 14-3-2 record in Cabrini’s net with 11 career shutouts.

The Cavaliers (1-0-1) will visit Eastern University this afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
