Freshman men’s basketball student-athlete Aaron Walton-Moss has been selected as this week’s CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week. Walton-Moss was instrumental in the Cavaliers’ run to a third consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference championship.
In Cabrini’s 87-68 semifinal win over Immaculate University, Walton-Moss scored nine points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds in 26 minutes of action.
In Friday’s championship game, the rookie recorded his first career double-double, pairing 18 points and 18 rebounds, including 8 on the offensive side, in 30 minutes off the Cavaliers’ bench. Walton-Moss' 18 boards were the most by a Cavalier in a game this season
In his 13 games with the Blue and White, Walton-Moss has scored in double-figures six times and grabbed at least five boards nine times. On the season, he averages 9.4 points and 7.5 rebounds in just over 18 minutes of action per night.
Walton-Moss and the Cavaliers will host the first two rounds of the 2012 NCAA Tournament. On Friday, Cabrini will host Castleton State College at 7:30 p.m. in Nerney Field House.
