Freshman swimming student-athlete Lauren Finnegan has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 23.
Finnegan led the Cavaliers to a 153-61 victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford on Saturday.
The rookie made her mark, capturing a pair of individual event and two relay wins in her second collegiate meet.
Finnegan posted victories in the 50 yard breast stroke with a time of 36.65 and a winning time of 57.76 in the 100 yard freestyle.
The rookie also anchored a pair of winning relays in the meet, joining seniors Christina Melchiorre and Moira Prior and freshmen Katherine Bruckman in a victorious 200 yard medley relay. Finnegan closed the meet with a win in the 200 yard freestyle with Melchiorre, Bruckman and freshman Sarah Eplett.
Finnegan and the Cabrini swim teams will head to Allentown, PA on Saturday, as they will face host Cedar Crest and King’s in a tri-meet. The action is slated to get underway at 1pm.
