Women’s basketball student-athlete Brittany Sandone has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, December 8. The junior led the Cavaliers to three victories against CSAC foes during the week.
Sandone started the week tallying 10 points in just 14 minutes of action as the Blue and White topped Notre Dame (Md.) 84-23. She shot 4-8 with three assists and a steal in the win.
On Wednesday, the junior guard recorded 11 points and a career high six assists as the Cavaliers snapped a three game losing streak against Immaculata with the 73-52 win.
Sandone clsed the week with a 21 point outburst in a 74-46 win at Baptist Bible. The junior tied a career high with five three pointers on the day.
For the week, Sandone posted 14 points and 4.3 assists per contest. She connected on 45% of her field goal attempts, including 6-15 from beyond the three point arc, and 6-6 from the free throw line.
Through seven games, Sandone leads the team with 14 points while ranking second in minutes with 29.7 per game. The junior leads the CSAC with a .938 free throw percentage. She also ranks in the league’s top 15 in points, three point percentage and three pointers made.
Sandone and the Cavaliers will return to the court on Monday, December 17 as they travel to Doylestown, Pa. to face Delaware Valley College. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
