Cabrini College sophomore men’s basketball student-athlete Aaron Walton-Moss has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 10. Walton-Moss led the Cavaliers to an 84-81 win at Ohio Wesleyan University in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Walton-Moss nearly reached a triple-double with 23 points, 13 rebounds and a career high nine assists. The sophomore added a pair of blocked shots while playing all 40 minutes in the road victory. The game marked Walton-Moss’ eighth double-double on the year, including in each of his last four outings. It also marks the fifth game of the season in which he has come within three assist of his first career triple-double.
The sophomore leads the club in points (14.5), rebounds (8.9), assists (5.3) and blocked shots (0.8). His 2.0 steals rank second, while his 0.522 field goal percentage is third on the team.
In the four games since the end of the 2012-13 regular season, Walton-Moss has posted averages of 20 points, 12 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.25 blocked shots per game. While playing 38 minutes per game, he has recorded 30 assists to just 10 total turnovers.
Walton-Moss and the Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday as they travel to Wooster, Ohio for their NCAA Tournament Third Round game. The Blue and White will face the College of Wooster at 7:00 p.m. in a battle of the last two national runners-up and a rematch of a 2011 Sweet 16 tilt.
