For the second time this season, senior volleyball student-athlete Danielle Carrozza has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 22. The senior led the Blue and White to a pair of victories at Saturday’s Widener University Tri-Match.
In Saturday’s opener against the Pride, Carrozza posted a match-high 17 kills against just one attack error. The senior also tallied six digs as the Cavaliers earned a 25-15, 25-23, 25-15 victory. Â
Carrozza also earned a team-high 11 kills in Cabrini’s 25-17, 25-19, 25-21 win over Haverford College in the nightcap. She also added six digs and a service ace in the win.
In the NCAA’s most recent statistical rankings, Carrozza lists among the best hitters in the nation. Carrozza ranks 30th with 3.93 kills per set and 33rd in hitting percentage at 0.362.   She also leads the Blue and White with 161 total kills and 18 service aces, while her 120 digs rank second.
Carrozza and the Cavaliers (11-3, 1-0 CSAC) will return to conference play on Wednesday when they travel to Baltimore to face Notre Dame (Md.) (6-3, 0-0 CSAC). First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
