Senior men’s soccer student-athlete C.J. Doherty was named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 29. The senior recorded a goal and two assists as the Blue and White topped Albright and Delaware Valley, extending its current win streak to three matches.
In Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Albright, Doherty found freshman A.J. Bishop in the 55th minute to extend the Blue and White’s lead to 3-0. On Saturday, the senior netted his second goal of the season in the 50th minute of play. He then recorded an assist on a 55th minute goal by fellow senior Brett Lockbaum.
On the season, Doherty is tied with Lockbaum for second on the team with seven points. His three helpers lead the club and are tied for third in the CSAC, while his two goals rank second on the team.
Doherty and the Blue and White (3-5-2, 0-0 CSAC) visit the new gray turf at Rosemont College (1-8, 0-1 CSAC) this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in a rematch of the 2012 CSAC championship game.
