Freshman men’s soccer student-athlete A.J. Bishop has been selected as CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 6. The rookie tallied three goals as the Blue and White extended its win streak to five matches.
Bishop opened his week with a seventh minute goal to start the scoring in a 3-1 win at Rosemont College. The rookie followed that with a two goal performance in a 4-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy. Bishop opened the score book in the 13th minute on an unassisted tally before extending the lead to 2-0 in the 60th minute.
On the season, Bishop leads the Blue and White with 15 points and seven goals, both of which rank second in the CSAC. All seven of Bishop’s goals have come in the program’s last five matches, all of which have been victories.
Bishop and the Cavaliers (5-5-2, 2-0 CSAC) will travel to Hackettstown, N.J. on Saturday to face Centenary College. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
