Freshman swimming student-athlete Todd Walker has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the Week ending Sunday, December 8. Â
Walker continued his record setting rookie season in Wednesday's meet against Arcadia. The freshman won the 1,000 yard freestyle in a time of 11:16.94, slicing nearly 12 seconds off the previous school record. Walker also finished second in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:27.26. Â
In Friday's meet against Penn State-Altoona, Walker won the 200 yard freestyle in 1:55.18 and placed second in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 57.95 seconds. Walker also joined juniors Nick Platt and Scott Hunt and freshman Bobby Schmidt for a second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay.
Walker now owns program records for both the 1,000 yard freestyle and the 200 yard backstroke, cutting more than a combined 22 seconds of the previous records. Â
Walker and the Blue and White swim teams will return to competition on January 11 when they visit Widener University for a dual meet.
