Junior men’s swimming student-athlete Evan Strickland has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 26. The junior posted a pair of victories for the Blue and White in Saturday’s dual meet at Swarthmore.

Strickland captured the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.99.  In just his third meet of the season, Strickland’s time marked the third fastest 100 yard breaststroke time this season in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

Later in the meet, the junior posted a time of 50.05 seconds to win the 100 yard freestyle.  Strickland’s time was the league’s fifth fastest time in the event this season.

The Cavaliers will close their 2013-14 regular season on Saturday when they visit Toms River, N.J. to face Ocean County College.  The events are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
