Junior volleyball student-athlete Danielle Carrozza was named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week, for the week of October 31 through November 6, 2011.
Carrozza led the Cavaliers to their third consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference with wins over Baptist Bible College and Neumann University.
The marketing major tallied nine kills, 12 digs and three blocks in the Cavaliers’ 3-0 semifinal win over BBC. In the final match victory over the Knights, Carrozza recorded her 14th double-double of the year with 12 kills and 16 digs.
As the Blue and White enter the 2011 NCAA Tournament, the junior leads the team with 397 kills and tops the CSAC averaging 3.75 kills per set. Carrozza also ranks third in the CSAC with a .298 hitting percentage.
Cabrini enters the national tournament with a record of 22-10 after completing their conference schedule a perfect 11-0.
For the third consecutive year, the Cavaliers will face Juniata College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. First serve is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday at Neumann University.
