Senior women’s basketball player Annie Rivituso has been named CabriniAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 2. The senior was an instrumental part in the Cavaliers winning their second consecutive CSAC Championship last week.
Rivituso averaged 14.5 points and 7.5 rebounds, while shooting 0.500 from the floor and from three point range, as the Blue and White extended its win streak to 11 games.
In Cabrini’s 78-59 semifinal win over Gwynedd Mercy, Rivituso tallied 11 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals. The senior then matched a career high with 18 points to go with her eight boards, as the Blue and White topped Immaculata 88-59 in the CSAC title games.
Rivituso ranks third on the team with 9.2 points per game, including nine consecutive games in double figure scoring. The senior’s 7.0 rebounds per game lead the team, while her 2.4 assists are second.
Rivituso and the Cavaliers (24-3) will make their eighth appearance in the NCAA Tournament on Friday when they face Moravian College (20-7) at Montclair State University. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
